The Reggie Spratt Trophy

This week's Reggie Spratt trophy was won by young member Matthew Tumlinson with a 73 gross playing off a handicap of 10, a brilliant 43 points! Congratulations to Matt who had a lesson the day before so I'm delighted all of his hard work has paid off. Jordan Perry with 42 points won his section and the gross prize went to Simon Miskelly with an excellent 69. The twos club paid out £15.30. The good scoring is also testament to how good the greens have been. 

Centenary Trophy

Tuesday saw another wet day for the ladies contesting the Centenary Trophy. Eve Mccracken won the trophy on the countback from Rosanne Fulton with 34 points. Let's hope for a dry Tuesday sometime soon. Heather ward, Caroline Nesbit and Patricia Todd each had a two paying out £16 each which has been added to their pro shop accounts. Congratulations to all the prize winners this week

Looking to cure those first tee nerves?

I've been organising with Mr Cormac Venney (a top sports psychologist) for him to hold a seminar here at Knock later in the year. I have been lucky enough to work alongside Cormac and he has some brilliant ideas and thoughts on how to overcome those dreaded nerves to let us play to the best of our abilities. Cormac works with the GUI, Ulster rugby, GAA and numerous other sports organisations on the mental side. He has a personal interest in golf and this will definitely be well worth a visit! When dates and times are agreed I will let you know it will be some evening probably next month.

Ladies Short Game Clinic

Monday afternoon saw the start of the ladies short game programme, unfortunately the weather was miserable but it didn't stop this hardy bunch! In the first session we covered all aspects of green side bunker shots. In future sessions I will be covering pitching, chipping, lob shots and putting. South of Ireland

A big congratulations to Colin Fairweather on making the full Irish team for the forthcoming home internationals being played at Royal Portrush. He was narrowly beaten in the final of the South of Ireland on Sunday at Lahinch and the green jersey is reward for a season of consistently good scoring! Well done again Colin well deserved and good luck next week at Mullingar for the Scratch Cup.
