We are getting closer

So the 1st of April is the date ... happy days. For the first 12 days of April (that’s the first stage of the protocols) we have decided to split the course into two separate 9 hole courses. You can book 7 days in advance from 8am everyday and you can book up to four 9 holes within a week. If on the day a space is available and you have already played 4 times that is ok.

The front 9 will be for 2 balls only with 8 minute intervals and the back 9 will be for 3 and 4 balls (from a max of two households) with 10 minute intervals. Its worth noting if the front 9 is fully booked and there is spaces available 2 balls can book on the back 9. The idea is to accommodate as many members as possible. We will review how this is all working after the first week.

If any members have any questions or if you need help getting a game or to be made up with a player(s) just get in touch. I hope you all enjoy the return to safe Golf.

Do you need anything to get started

I am about the Pro shop most days during the week to take deliveries and to get the Pro shop ready for our return. So if you need any re grips, re shafts, re spikes or anything from the shop just give me a buzz I can collect and/or deliver anything to your home as all part of the service...... just get in touch and let me know.

Course news

Latest work

As part of the return to golf the hedge surrounding the car park was cut and tidied up .... its a great job and really does make a difference.

Until we re open the team will continue to tidy the course up. All the branches and twigs will be picked up and cutting commenced this week. Its great to see definition again. Hopefully the temperatures increase so we can get some grass to grow. Edging of bunkers and pathways also make such a difference to the look of the course.

New signage for the Pro shop and Studio

Check out the fantastic new posters promoting the golf studio in the Pro shop. They really freshen the shop up and are easy to read.

Making the highlight reel

40-year-old Australian Matt Jones claimed victory at The Honda Classic on the beautiful-but-challenging PGA National golf course, with Denmark’s Sebastian Cappelen going shirtless for a watery chip before Wesley Bryan removed shoes and trousers for a couple of shots. That’s one way to make the highlight reel!

On the European Tour, Justin Harding proved the importance of avoiding errors as he went bogey-free in the final round to win the Magical Kenya Open. Sure, he did have a few birdies and an eagle on the day, but it was the bogey avoidance that saw him reign supreme.

We might not have the same wildlife as Nairobi’s Karen Country Club, but we can help you dodge those mistakes this season with a series of one-to-one lessons with a member of the team.

On the move

You probably think of your trolley as just a handy way to take the weight of a full golf bag off your shoulders as you walk the course (which it is), but nowadays your trolley can also take a huge weight off your mind as you play.

New Motocaddy GPS trolleys

Last year marked a significant upgrade in the world of GPS electric trolleys, and this year is set to follow suit.

To begin with, Motocaddy has added GPS technology to its highly popular M3 model for the first time! As the screen below shows, you will be able to view key yardages to the green at the quickest of glances.

1-iron or hybrid?

No matter how good you are, it’s easy to feel intimidated when placing an old-school 1-iron or 2-iron behind the ball.
