Call us if required

I know first hand how difficult tee bookings have been but please give me a buzz at the Pro shop and we will endeavour to get you fixed up.

Remember you can book golf via the Pro shop for any morning midweek from 8 - 9.38am and weekends from 7 - 8.38am for play off the back 9. Its been a great initiative to get more people out playing especially for those members who just want to play 9 holes.

Give us a call at the Pro shop on 02890 483825 if you are having difficulties booking tee times. My job is to try and juggle the timesheet to help as many groups as possible.

Twos Club

Latest update

We are not allowed to run competitions at present but the GUI gave permission for PGA Pros to run a Twos club. I would like to thank all those members who have entered the ‘twos club’. Its a start to some sort of normal.

The twos club will run each weekend from Friday - Sunday. Entry is £2 and you can inform me of a two in 3 ways

Last weekend the twos paid out £12.10

The ladies twos club on Tuesday runs the same way and costs £1.

Course looking magnificent!

A big thanks go to Lee and his team who have worked tirelessly to maintain the place, especially after the storms last weekend which caused a massive amount of debris.

Can I please remind everyone to replace divots and repair pitch marks. Every night Chris Moutray is filling the par 3 tee boxes with divot mix to try and keep them in good condition. There are huge demands on the course at present so it's important we all help out.

Great to see happy faces again.

The best part of golf re-opening for me was to see so many friends and happy faces ... the sun has helped also. It's not quite normal but its a start.

What a week it has been!

Nick is back

There has been no PGA Training for Pros this week. We opened for golf last Wednesday and it's been manic ever since. I have brought Nick off furlough and would like to thank him for his hard work, time and patience this week... it has not been easy Booking and monitoring every player from 8am to 8 pm every day and also trying to start up my business at the same time.

I would like to thank all the members who have supported me this week with orders and purchases. Just let me know if you need anything and i can have it waiting for you when you arrive at the club

Thoughts for the course

Home advantage is a phenomenon across most sports. In golf, playing a competition or match on a course you know like the back of your hand has obvious benefits. However, when playing a hole for the hundredth time, it’s easy to fall into the trap of playing it the same way you always have. But, what if there’s another way?

Risk and reward - take on the challenge?

This is where the question of risk and reward comes in.

Does the potential risk of bringing danger into play, be it trees or hazards, outweigh the potential reward?

Next time you’re standing on the tee, weigh up the potential risks and rewards of pulling out your driver. Don’t just think about avoiding doubles and trebles, consider the potential birdie or scoring 3-points. Likewise, if you struggle with a particular tee-shot, think about alternative ways to play that hole.
