Scotty Cameron fitting day On Wednesday we held a Scotty Cameron fitting day on our putting green. All slots were taken and many members got to have a look at all the latest product from the Scotty brand.
Katie Poots our U16 Ireland International worked in the pro shop as part of her school Work experience. Have a read below on her thoughts from the Scotty Cameron fitting day.

On Wednesday 13th November, I went to the Scotty Cameron fitting day, Peter (the Titleist fitter) fitted me at first. I wasn’t too sure if I would like the new Scotty Cameron’s, however, Peter was very knowledgeable and told me all about the materials used and the reason why they were used. At the minute I have the TaylorMade Spider which I putt well with but I decided to go to the fitting day anyway. At first, I didn’t really like the look of the new Scotty Cameron putters. Peter tried different putters with me from the newly released to the oldest putters which I thought was useful as he wanted best for you.
I really enjoyed my Scotty Cameron experience and I would advise you to go to fitting experiences. Peter is excellent at advising you on the best putter for your game!
Thanks, Katy and thanks for brightening up our Wednesday. |
Stock rooms from TaylorMade, Titleist and Callaway
I have been busy this week visiting stock rooms to see the new 2020 Products from various companies. Pictured below is the TaylorMade stockroom in the Marine Court Hotel in Bangor.

I wasn’t allowed to photograph the new TaylorMade woods for next year but I was very impressed with what I saw. Once again 2020 looks to be an exciting year for the golf industry. |
The Pro Shop Christmas draw is now open

Avoid the high street queues We’d love to know the percentage of people who will be doing their Christmas shopping online this year! If you’re one of them be sure to check out our Click & Collect service, where you can browse 1000s of products at your leisure and get them delivered to our pro shop for FREE. If anything, collecting your presents from us gives you an extra excuse for a game of golf! |

Get something personal As we edge towards the big day, it’s time to start thinking about the presents that you'll buy loved ones this year, as well as the gifts you'd like to receive yourself. We love the idea of a dozen (or two) personalised Srixon golf balls; after all, you can never have too many! You can order yours on our website and pay when you collect them in-store in a few weeks’ time. |

#468FCD ;text-align:left">Stats that'll make you thinkYou don’t get to a single-figure handicap without having a strong iron game, but the journey shouldn't end there. For us, there are two key factors that, when combined properly, will help take your iron play to the next level. |
1) Get custom-fitted If you're serious about shooting in the 70s each and every round, then getting custom-fitted for your next set of irons is key. TaylorMade’s P790 model feel fantastic off the face and provide precise distances and control, but that's no good if you're using the wrong shafts or you need 2-degrees flat but yours are standard.
2) Know your yardages The second stat above is remarkable and if you're one of the 21%, you need to come and see us for a gapping session. There we can give you the distances you hit each of your clubs as well as spot any issues you have between clubs.
