PGA Pro-Am
On Monday I travelled to Castlerock Golf Club to compete in a PGA Pro-Am with Knock members (from left) Glen Roberts, Simon Swail and Brian McCullough.
My golf was very average to finish top 15 but we had good craic on a great course in good conditions, thanks lads for the day out. |

Summerfield Cup and Victory Cup
Last week the finals of the Summerfield Cup and Victory Cup took place. The duo of Stephen Cairns & Jordan Scott-Brown won the Summerfield and Ryan McCrory won the Victory Cup... congrats lads!

Sunday Sweep
Richard Lucas shot to the top of the leaderboard with a brilliant 41pts, runner up with 38pts went to Shaun McMorran and Mark Kelly snatched 3rd place on the countback from 4th placed Andrew Magill and 5th place went to Rory Caithness... all 3 men shooting 37pts.
The twos club paid out £8.60 each.

Stars Of The Future Tee It Up At Balmoral
Pictured here is the Team that represented Knock on Sunday for the Eddie Harper Trophy.
It was a first competitive outing for some of the players and they all handled the occasion brilliantly.
We finished in a Top 10 position, well-done boys!

September Monthly Tankard
The September Monthly Tankard was played for last weekend with Matthew Tumlinson taking the spoils with 39pts, he beat runner up Ronnie Andrews on the better back 9 (also 39pts). 3rd place with 38pts went to Chris Spence, 4th placed Matthew Perry and 5th place Joe Montgomery both shot 37pts.
The best gross with 68 (-2) went to James McVicker and Alasdiar Gibson took the Anno Domini prize with 37pts. |

Knock Past Lady Captains’
The Knock Past Lady Captains’ competition was organised by Helen Anderson last Thursday.
The overall winner was Alison Sinnamon with runner up Patricia Jordan. Lady President Jane Gibson won the 9 hole competition.
21 Past Captains attended the lunch following the competition.

The Ladies Hancock Trophy
Helen Anderson took home the trophy this week with 37pts, she had 3pts to spare over runner up Leslie Barkley on 34pts and Ann Morrison took 3rd prize with 33pts.
The 9 holes prize went to Valerie Junkin on 14pts and runner up also with 14pts was Shelagh Boucher.
The twos paid out £18 each.

Hat Competition
The Wednesday ‘Hat’ competition finishes next Wednesday 25th September and will be played over the first 12 holes. The ‘Woolly Hat’ will start the following Wednesday and will be played over 14 holes (1-13th + 16th).

Autumn Series 2019
The playing season at Knock has been extended. Because of our decision to do greens maintenance in July we are delighted to have great putting surfaces. Our playing season will be extended right into November.
Please see the information below on the new Autumn series initiative. A reminder that tee times can be booked from now for the Friday/Saturday.

- The series will be played over the first 4 weekends in October.
- Members will be able to take a weekly competition card on either the Friday or Saturday.
- Prizes for the weekly competition will be provided across multiple categories, including Ladies, Anno Domini (65+) and 4 handicap sections. - Merit points will be awarded to the top 15 players each week. The overall winner of the “Autumn Series Trophy” will be the player who has collected the most merit points during the 4 week period.
- Prizes for the final standings in the Autumn Series will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, Leading Senior (65+) and Leading Lady. - Tee times for both the Friday and Saturday can be booked by members using the BRS system or through the pro shop. Please note – there will be no ballot draw in place. Tee times for Saturday will be available for booking on BRS from 17th September. - Full details of the competition have been posted on the Main Competition Noticeboard. - The Winter League Competition will commence on Friday 1st November 2019 with further details to follow in the coming weeks. |
White Stakes To The Left Of The 11th Fairway
You will have noticed white stakes down the left side of the 11th hole. They are NOT out of bounds stakes, they have been put in for a site visit. Left of 11 remains a penalty area!
