Competition news

JJ Hogg OBE Trophy

Ryan McGread collected the trophy this week with 40 points, second place to fifth place all shot 39 points and has to be separated on countback. Don Wright Jnr finished second, Simon Miskelly third, John Thomson fourth and Brian Best finished fifth. The Best Gross with 71 went to Matthew Welsh and the Anno Domini prize went to Chris Berry with 36 points.

Category One: Jordan Perry - 38 points
Category Two: Connor McClenaghan - 38 points
Category Three: Peter Truesdale - 37 points

Category One B9: Hamies Ashengurst – 21 points
Category Two B9: George Lighttbody – 22 points
Category Three B9: Ciaran Dinsmore – 23 points

The twos club paid out £13.33 each.

Sunday Sweep
Sunday, 4 August

This week’s winner with 41 points was Bertie Long. Runner up with 40 points went to Stuart Kerr and Gary Boyd came third with 39 points. Peter Johnston took fourth place with 38 points.

The twos club paid out £16.50 each and all monies have been transferred into your Pro Shop accounts.

Ladies’ 18-Hole Stableford

This week’s winner with 36 points was Valerie Blackburne, runner up with 32 points on countback was Dorothy Brown who pipped third-placed Patricia Jordan (also 32 points). The twos paid out £14.00 each.

Vicky Lapsley took top spot in the 9 Hole Prize recording 15 points and Helen Knight finished second with 14 points.

Junior Competition

Robbie Davidson continues his fine run of form to win this week’s Junior event with 37 points, Jared Magee finished second with 34 points.

Course news

A very smooth ride

Check out this photo of the greenkeepers' ironing the greens, this takes place every morning to increase speed and to smooth off the surfaces. They looked fantastic this morning (Thursday).

New Titleist components just landed

I’m pleased to announce I have taken stock of the new Titleist T series irons and TS hybrid range along with over 50 shaft options. Have a look below these beauties, they look amazing.

Titleist Fitting Day

Only a few days until our Titleist Fitting Day at Knock GC on Monday, 12 August between 11:00am - 4:00pm.

It will be the first location to have the new 2020 model T series irons to try and also the new TS1 and TS4 drivers. The new irons look amazing, don't miss out.

Waterproof Cart bags in-store

With the heavy rains this summer, many golfers have been upgrading their golf bags to a waterproof one. Even the zips and rain good are fully waterproof. Pictured below is an example of the range I carry in-store, I have the new Titleist range coming in later this week. Watch this space.

The simple shoe equation

Mathematics can be a complicated subject with all that pi, algebra and calculus floating around, but there is one simple equation we can all understand:
