The afternoon players stormed to the top of the leaderboard with Susan Craig taking home the Arbothnot Trophy runner up was Ann McIvor and third place went to Sharon Fulton. Junior Summer Camps
Now that all the schools are closed for summer, Nick, our Assistant PGA Professional is running Golf Summer Camps. The first started on Wednesday, 3 July with the next session on Friday, 5 July for 4-6-year olds. This is a chance to get your children into the game of golf with Juniors of a similar age group. With juniors, it’s about having fun, learning and ultimately doing this in a safe environment. I will cover all the different areas of the game from putting to using the driver. Please find attached a poster detailing all the other camps running throughout the summer months. Click here for more information. If you would like to book your child/children onto any of the camps please contact the Pro Shop. If these dates did not suit give us a call and we will try and accommodate. (They don’t need to be a member) |

The next superstar
Below is a video of Matthew Wolff who won on the PGA Tour last week in only his third ever professional tournament. His swing looks very unconventional (click here to view) but what I love about his swing is: - The consistency of his trigger - Great transition - Great body rotation through the ball - Massive commitment to every swing He is great for the game and fun to watch, keep an eye on this kid. |

Is Wolff's swing really that new? Check out this video above of Irish golfing legend Jimmy Bruen in 1959, ahead of his time maybe? Great similarities. |

Putting things right Sometimes, it's the most obvious things that get overlooked. When it comes to golf, the club most used in a round is a putter so surely it's the part of the game that deserves most attention? We know this isn't a reality for many, but a combination of working hard on your stroke and having a putter that is suited to your stroke type will certainly improve your chances on the greens - two things that this promotion is all about. Click here to get in touch. |
