Welcome to another edition of our newsletter. The buzz around the club in recent weeks has been fantastic and you get a real sense that this year’s Masters is going to be like no other. Will Rory complete the Grand Slam? Will Tiger win his 15th Major? Could Spieth find some form at a course he loves? My tips for this week are: - Bryson DeChambeau to win - Paul Casey each way - Charley Hoffman to lead after round one Enjoy the golf, it really is a special event. |
The golf season is officially here On Sunday the Inter Club matches started with Knock hosting Ballymena in the Holt Shield.
Pictured below (from left) is Club President Drew Blackburne, Holt Shield Captains Mervyn Perry and Andrew Gilmour and Club Captain Peter Truesdale. It was great to see a buzz about the club, the match finished 2.5-2.5.

Play your part
The green staff have been working tirelessly to get our greens in better condition, the maintenance is healing well and fertilisers have been used (pictured). All we need is some warmth for grass to grow. Can I please ask you all to fix your pitchmark AND one extra on each green, it’s vital early in the season that pitchmarks are being repaired. Thank you!

PGA Fourball Championship
On Tuesday Nick (our new Assistant Professional) and myself travelled to Lough Erne in Enniskillen to compete in the PGA Golfnow Sponsored Fourball Championship.
We fought hard to finish in second position and had a fun day away. The course was very ‘wintery’ with bumpy greens, but it was the same for everyone. Thanks for the game Nick and well played.

A driver is a powerful beast, sometimes too powerful if a hole has a hazard within range. In this scenario, you have a plethero of options to choose from, but there is one that is often overlooked. |
Picture the scene You're stood on a par-4 tee box and there’s a water hazard 240 yards away. What do you do? Many of you will reach for your longest iron on auto-pilot, however a custom-fitted fairway wood might just be the perfect solution; getting you further down the hole and closer to the green. | |
|
Why is this often overlooked? A lot of golfers don't have confidence in hitting their fairway wood because, quite simply, they don't use it enough. But with technology to help you hit them better - such as a Tungsten weight in PING's G410 fairway wood that increases forgiveness - it's time you gave them another go. |
Custom fitting is key We're delighted to see so many of you come to us for a custom fit when you're after a new driver or set of irons, but why does it stop there? A custom fitting is so important in ensuring you get the most from any new purchase, whether that's a driver, fairway wood or putter. |
