Woolly Hat
Last Wednesday saw Julian Patterson take home the big prize with a fine 30 points over the 14 holes with Derek Quinn finishing second on countback. Third place went to Michael Crooks with 29 points who beat fourth placed Peter McNamee on countback.
The twos club paid out £12.50 each and all monies has been transferred to your Pro Shop accounts.

Weekend Sweep results
Mark Graham continued his fine run of form to snatch victory with 31 points, runner up with 29 points went to Maurice Crawford on the better back nine from third placed Richard Lucas 29 points with Garth Russell shooting 28 points to take fourth place. Simon Miskelly took home the Best Gross with 53 (-1). The twos club paid out £11.00 each and all monies have been added to your Pro Shop accounts. |
Ladies 12 Hole Winter Stableford
The ladies turned out in force on Tuesday with 61 players competing in the 12 Hole Winter Stableford, a great turn out ladies. Katie Poots ran off with the spoils by shooting a fantastic 29 points to beat runner up Sinead Murray (27 points) by two. Third place went to Joan Sinclair with a solid 24 points. Katie recorded two twos and along with Lynne Anderson claimed £17.00 per two, congrats to Katie that was an under par gross score! |

Course update
Pictured is an example of the bunkers after the team dedicated this week to tidying them up. The leaf situation takes many man hours to collect each day and two members of the green staff have been away on a 10-day course to get qualified in tree surgery.
This will mean we no longer need to pay ‘big’ money anytime we need this service, we can now do it in house and save a fortune.
Now we are back to a full team you will notice a difference in the little things that make a big difference. You will also see over the next month the staff trimming a lot of branches etc to help airflow, light and to make playing certain holes a little easier.

Congrats to Matthew Gibson on winning the Irish Junior Open Winter Series at Castlerock Golf Club on Wednesday.

Perhaps something to think about
When we park a car, we look and we park. We park in many different size spaces, we park backing in and going forward. When we park the action of our hands and arms, feet, eyes and body are not following any exact conscious directions. A general unconscious, just in the ball park concept guiding this event.
I don’t think anyone parks 80, 90 or 100 a day, or a week which is the amount of times many golfers swing 80, 90, 100, while consciously paying attention to exact details.
Perhaps some golfers who are playing and swinging with exact details should consider using general concepts. |
Huge gains for Brian
I have taken numerous club fittings in the Swing Studio this week but none better than Brian Smyth (below) who gained a massive 25yards with the new Titleist TS product.
