Welcome back Gary
I travelled to Lurgan Golf Club on Monday to compete in the first PGA Alliance of the year, the weather was fantastic and we had a fun day. My golf didn’t match the weather as I pencilled in 15 pars and three bogeys in a very frustrating round of golf to shoot 73 and scrape a top eight finish. Plenty of practice needed. A special mention to my team member Gary Patterson who is back playing after a long illness, he showed his class by recording a solid 36 points. Welcome back Gary.

An ace week for Master Eddie The British Masters took place at Walton Heath in Surrey last week and was hosted by the local favourite, Justin Rose. The tournament had a stark weather contrast from start to finish with conditions declining and making it a real grind for the players. The caddies were certainly tested during the final round trying to keep their players warm and dry. It was a day of umbrellas, waterproofs and wearing the correct layering, which at this time of year can help or hinder your round. The tournament winner was Eddie Pepperell who dealt with the conditions the best and led from start to finish to claim a two shot victory. Eddie’s highlight of the week was his impressive hole in one on Thursday at the ninth hole, earning £20,000 for charity and a celebratory bottle of wine from the tournament host. Pepperell now moves up to 33rd in the world rankings and with it an invite to next year’s biggest tournaments including his first trip to The Masters at Augusta. If you need help layering up this winter then contact me here. |

What a relief As 2019 comes ever closer, so too do the new Rules of Golf which are to be implemented on 1st January 2019. The changes being made are intended to modernise the game, one of which is the dropping procedure. Drops will no longer have to be made from shoulder height – instead, golfers will be able to drop from knee height when taking relief to simplify the dropping process and speed up play. View all rules changes here. |

On Tuesday the ladies had terrible weather for their 12-hole competition with my partner from last week Ann Spence continuing her fine form to win with 23 points on countback from runner up Alison Sinnamon. Third place went to Ann Morrison with 22 points. There was a draw for the twos with each one paying out £9.75 each. |
Re-Draw for Winter League times
There is a Re-Draw for Saturday tee times this Sunday, 21 October at 5:00pm. This means DOUBLE the players can tee off in the early morning slots which is definitely the preferred time for many.
The one tee option was not popular with many winter Saturday players and I would like to thank the members who contacted me to let me know this. It will be resolved by this weekend which is great for everyone. As always if any member needs help with their Saturday tee times please get in touch and if you are not playing on a given Saturday please take your name off the time sheet which is now live online 24/7.

When you step onto the tee with a driver in hand, there are two thoughts in most golfers' minds: "Hit it far, and hit it straight". Both of these were easier said than done, until Titleist released its new TS2 and TS3 drivers earlier this year... |
Both of these drivers are designed to bring more speed to your game, which results in greater distance. It's as simple as that. The Titleist TS2 is all about forgiveness. In fact, it has the highest MOI that Titleist has ever produced, which means it's more resistant to twisting at impact, for longer and straighter shots. However, if you have a consistent miss with your drives, the TS3 will be perfect for you as we can set it up to counter your destructive shot. With two models to choose from, it's more important than ever to come and see us for a custom fitting. What numbers will you be putting up on the Titleist board? |
