An unforgettable experience
Last week I travelled to the Ryder cup in Paris. The venue and atmosphere was incredible and the standard of golf by the European team was immense.
Check out the video and photos below, they don’t do the course and crowds justice, it was one amazing experience. You will see an example of the 'Vicking Clap' on the 1st tee at the Ryder Cup singles, amazing stuff.

It was great to watch the greatest golfers in the world close up. I spent a bit of time on the practice area and putting green watching how they prepare for battle, amazing to see up close.

McCrum Shield The McCrum Shield was played for last weekend with Eddie Bittles shooting 43 points to take the silverware, he pipped runner up Robbie Davidson on countback. Third place went to David I Wilson with 42 points and Des McCausland took fourth place with 39 points. Fifth place went to Graeme Gilmour with 38 points.The best gross with -2 68 went to Michael Sinclair and the Anno Domini prize went to Tom Reid with 36 points. Category One winner - Jonathan Wright 37 points Category Two winner - Stephen Orr 37 points Category Three winner - Dominic Doherty 37 points The twos club paid out £5.43 each mainly due to David Fitzsimmons heroics on recording a hole in one at the 12th hole paying out a massive £163, congrats David |
Sunday Sweep results
Neill Adamson took the spoils with 39 points with runner up Robert Irvine shooting 37 points. David Cobain came third with 36 points on countback from fourth placed Mark McKee. The twos paid out £12.50 each and all monies have been transferred into your Pro Shop accounts.

Ladies 12 Hole Stableford
The ladies have started their 12-hole Winter Stableford competitions with Alison Sinnamon winning with 27 points on countback from runner up Hilary Graham, with Lynne Anderson taking third place with 26 points.
The twos club paid out £15.00 each and all monies have been added to your Pro Shop accounts.

Junior McCutchison Cup
On Sunday the juniors played for the McCutchison Cup with Matthew Gibson taking the trophy with 39 points. Robbie Davidson finished runner up with 32 points.
Have you qualified?
This weekend coming is the Reggie Spratt Cup and the McMullen Cup for the following qualifiers (below).
The McMullen Cup is a cup for the winners and best gross winners of the Monthly Tankards throughout the year, good luck to all participants.

Winter League entries now open
It’s horrible to be thinking about the Winter League starting after such a great summer season but it’s not for a while yet. Entries can be filled in at the Pro Shop. It’s £20 to enter and starts on Friday, 12 October. The Winter League can be played any day of the week with each week starting on a Friday and ending on the Thursday. Weekly prizes are on offer in the low, mid and high handicap sections and the twos competition will run as normal. Each competitor will be allocated a team and at the end of the Winter League overall and team prizes will be awarded. If you would like to find out more about our winter playing season just give me a call on 028 904 83825. I would encourage everyone to enter this year, you sometimes need a good excuse to get out in the cold mornings, and remember it’s only the best 10 cards to count.

PING Fitting Day
We will be hosting a PING Fitting Day on Thursday, 11 October. The day will run between 10:00 - 14:00.
A representative from PING will be on hand to take you through the very latest PING equipment. We will have the latest i210 and i500 irons to try, along with the new glide wedges. If you are interested in seeing how the latest equipment can benefit your game, then book yourself a slot for the day.
