Baby Ella continues to fight
Baby Ella has been in and out of hospital over the last few weeks with viral and respiratory issues. It’s 4.07 AM on Tuesday morning as I write this, the long hospital nights are taking its toll!
I would like to thank everybody for their kind thoughts and all the chats I have had. I would also like to thank all my clients for being so understanding as I have had to cancel and re-arrange golf lessons and custom fits at the last minute.
Let’s hope she gets back home soon. |

Moutray braves the shave
Pictured is Greens Convener Chris Moutray who shaved his head as part of the Captain’s Charity Day for Macmillan Cancer last Friday. The day went well with lots of fun had. The team of Pat Davis, David Cook and their guests won the team prize with 85 points. Fair play to big ‘Mouts’ on a great gesture. I wasn’t at the evening entertainment but I hear Chris spoke very well and from the heart. It really doesn’t look as bad as I thought! |

TaylorMade Fitting Day
I will be holding a TaylorMade Fitting Day on Monday, 17 September at YOUR practice ground.
You can try any 2018 Product from the range but it’s to coincide with the exciting launch of the new GAPR rescue clubs and driving irons. They have to be hit to be believed, pumped full of ‘Speed foam’ the launch and ball speed is ridiculous. I will have some fitting product myself by next week, so come and have a look. Call us 028 904 83825 or click here to book your fitting today.

Gapping is vitally important to any golfer. Being able to pick a club out of the bag and knowing exactly how far you can strike the ball will make for more confident shots, as you won’t be constantly wondering if you should club up or club down. |
Not just for wedges Gapping is often associated with the shorter clubs in your bag, but it's just as important to make sure you pay attention to the gaps between your longer clubs, too. Good gapping would see you have equal gaps between clubs that are no bigger than 15 yards, as displayed in the green illustration below. In contrast, bad gapping would leave you with uneven or large distances between clubs, often over 20 yards or under 10. Having equal gaps throughout your bag will mean you are much closer with your next club, so you won’t have to manufacture shorter/longer swings or hit soft/hard shots, which is where a lot of problems begin. |
Being able to know exactly how far each club goes can be even more helpful if you have a GPS device telling you the exact distance between your ball and the pin. So if you're still guessing how far you hit each club, come and speak to a member of the team. We can guarantee it's costing you shots. |
