I hope you all had a fantastic week on and off the golf course and welcome to a new edition of our weekly newsletter, keeping you up to date with the latest news and gossip within the walls of Knock Golf Club.

The Winter League is under way...

My newsletter winter league results will always be a week behind as my newsletter has to be finished by Thursday morning and the results are not published until Thursday night. This week's results were as follows:

Low Section - First place - Jamie Ashenhurst (37), second place - Alistair Charles (36), third place - Richard Lucas (35) and in fourth place - Lee Mitchell (35).

Mid Section - First place - Sam Graham (34), second place - Stephen Cairns (34), third place - Kevin Taggart (33) and in fourth place - John Cairnduff (32).

High Section - First place - Ken Brady (37), second place - Ian McClure (34), third place - Tommy McIlwaine (32) and in fourth place - Richard Buller (31).

The twos club paid out £15.30 each and all winnings have been transferred to your pro shop accounts.

Ladies Woolly Hat Competition

The Ladies Woolly Hat Competition starts this Friday, 27 October. As per last year I will be running a Ladies Wolly hat competition each week which will start on the Friday and run to the Thursday. Play will be over the first 12 holes will be stableford points and cost £2 to enter. All monies taken will be paid out for prizes.

Weekend Sweep Results (Friday, 20 October - Sunday, 22 October)

First place - Richard Lucas (39 points, -3 gross), second place - Steven McWilliams (37 points), third place - Peter Law (36 points, BB3) and in fourth place - Pat O'Connor (36 points, BB3).

Best Gross - Michael Sinclair (61, -1).

The twos club paid out £5.50 each and all monies have been added to your pro shop accounts. A reminder that the weekend sweep is played over 16 holes from Friday to Sunday and is open to all sections of membership. Sunday afternoon is a quiet time to play why not arrange a game, bring a friend and enjoy some fresh air before the Monday blues hit? 

Order of play when 14th and 15th holes are closed...

When the 14th and 15th holes are closed due to water logging players should go from the 13th green and play 18,17 and finish on the 16th. This plays quicker and helps to reduce tracks across the front of the 17th green. When 18 holes are open the normal sequence of 18 should be played.

Social events at Knock...

If you aren't away for the Halloween weekend, why not join us for Jazz Sunday, 29 October? A relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, and top class background music with the Scott Flannigan Trio. Book your table on 90480915.

Busy, busy, busy...

It’s been a very busy week with re-gripping and general club repairs; I always enjoy this side of the job, so feel free to drop your clubs in for any attention required. With a full winter ahead, now’s the time to make sure your clubs, shoes and grips are all up to scratch, so you can enjoy your golf.

I am one of the first stockists to have the new 2018 Titleist AP1, 2 and 3 sets of irons in stock (See photos below). I also have the new TaylorMade P790 and CGB irons. Demo irons are now available for you to try and if you want to take it one step further why not book a fitting session in the studio using the GC Quad launch monitor etc.
