Welcome to this week's newsletter from Knock Golf Club.

Why not use your club for a family occasion, party or get together?

Last week I was finishing off in the Swing Studio when I heard laughs and giggles coming from the dining room. I stuck my head in to see Tommy McIlwaine had a large party of friends and family celebrating his 50th Wedding Anniversary. The comments from his guests about the food and service was exceptional and many of them where blown away by the standard of food. This got me thinking, why do more members not use the golf club for events like this? Maybe they are not aware of this service. Just think a FREE of charge room, easy parking, great food, a good range of drinks and great service, AND you are supporting YOUR club. If you are interested in arranging an event at the club, please get in touch with Bob (Our Head Chef).
Congratulations again to Tommy and his wife on a happy 50 years together, and I'm glad the party night was a huge success.

Social Events

Autumn is closing in so why not come to the club, hear some great live music and relax at our End of Summer Party on Saturday, 23 September.

Club Championships

Colin Fairweather lived up to his billing as 'favourite' to win the Club Championship Scratch Medal by eight shots. Congratulations Colin with your 7-under-par total for the 36 holes. A full list of the results are as follows:

First place - C. Fairweather (64 + 69 = 133), second place - Joe Montgomery (69 + 72 = 141) and in third place - Ross Latimer (71 + 74 =145).
Best second 18 - Trevor Gilliland (73).
Best Nett - Don Wright Jet (75 + 65 = 140).

President's Day Results

First place - Don Wright Jnr (41 points), second place - Dougie Brown (40 points), third place - Richard Hamilton (40 points) and in fourth place - John Poots (39 points).
Best gross - James Patterson (69).
Anno Domini Prize - Brian Andrews (36 points).
Past President's - Berkeley McMonagle (33 points).
Junior Prize - Glenn McCreery (36 points).

Category One - First place - Jonathan Wright (38 points) and in second place - Glen McKittrick (36 points).

Ladies Hancock Trophy

First place - Ann Morrison - 33 points (BB9), second place - Joan Sinclair - 33 points (BB6) and in third place - Aileen Wilson (33 points).

McMullen Cup

A list of the McMullen Cup participants are shown below. This competition is being played this Friday, 15 September and Saturday, 16 September. Good luck to all players. involved. The event will run alongside the Centenary Cup this weekend.
