September Monthly Tankard Results

Overall winner - David Fitzsimmons - 66.
Best gross - Colin Fairweather - 64 (-6).
Anno Domini - Dougie Browne - 70.

Category One - First place - Jonathan Montgomery - 66 and in second place - Jonathan Wright - 69.
Category Two - First place - Steven McWilliams - 68 and in second place - Matthew Lindsay - 69.
Categiry Three - First place - Scott Collins - 67 and in second place - John Carmichael - 68.
Category Four - First place - John Mcwhinney - 67 and in second place - Brian McCullough - 71.

The twos club paid out £12.81 per two. The CSS on Friday was 71 and Saturday was 72. Great scoring again this week in the dreaded strokeplay format. Congratulations to all the winners and all monies have been transferred to your pro shop accounts.

The Belfast and District Cup Final

Philip Davidson's Knock team will play in the Final of the B&D Cup against Shandon Park. The match will take place over the next two Sundays. The first leg will be played at Shandon Park this at 12:30pm and the return will be the following Sunday, 17 September at 2:40pm. Let's cheer on the boys your support could make the difference.

Ladies Friday Stableford - Friday, 1 September

First place - Elaine Morrow (34 points) and in second place - Jill Adrian (32 points).

Elaine Morrow picked up £18 for recording the only two.

ILGU Medal - Tuesday, 5 September

First place - Alison Sinnamon (75), second place - Pauline Cook (79) and in third place - Helen Anderson (80).

Jill Kennedy picked up £25 for having the only two. A reminder to the ladies section that the Sunday Sweep is open to you all. It's an 18 hole stableford points competition, handicap qualifying. Just book a time and play.

PGA Captain/Pro Event

On Monday I travelled to Seapoint Golf Club with the Club Captain Frank McGrath to play in the PGA Pro-Captain Event. Frank is pictured in action at the 18th below. After a very poor start by both of us we played some solid golf to return an under par score.... not good enough to be in the prizes, but we had a very enjoyable day out. Thanks Frank for the game it was good craic.

President's Day - Friday, 8 September and Saturday, 9 September

The usual Saturday timesheet will be in operation for President's Day. If you can't make your tee time or indeed if you would like a change in tee time, please give me a buzz at the pro shop. The prizes look amazing in the cabinet and having two closest to the pins and a long drive prize always adds to the fun.

Like Captain's Day the entry fee will be £15 which includes a meal and a drink. May I wish all players the best of luck in the last ' Major' of the year.

Club Championship Scratch Medal

The Club Championship Scratch Medal will be decided this weekend. Listed below is the early leaders at the half way stage. Good luck to all competitors in both President's Day and the Scratch Medal.
