Are you prepared?

I thought I would share with you a few stretches (Click here to view) that could help your game and prevent any injurys. Bare in mind a Professional will do a 10 - 20 minute stretching session before they play/practice.

Centenary Mixed Greensomes

First place - David and Pauline Cook - 41 points.

The twos club paid out £12 each. 


18 Hole Club Sweep

Last weekend members played in an 18 Hole Club Sweep. Results were as follows:

Overall Winner - John Mcwhinney - 43 points.
Best Gross - James MCVicker - 69.
Anno Domini - Davy Jones - 38.

Category One - First place - Chris Crawford - 39 points and in second place - Adam Welsh - 37 points.
Category Two - First place - Stephen Jefferson - 40 points and in second place - Brian Long - 38 points.
Category Three - First place - James Moore - 38 points and in second place - Norman Johnston - 37 points.
Category Four - First place - Michael Browne - 39 points (BB9) and in second place - John McCullough - 39 points.

The twos club paid out £11.48 per two and all monies have been added to your pro shop accounts.
A special mention to this week's winner John Mcwhinney who spent a good session in the swing studio last week. We worked on changing his angle of attack and club path. Congratulations John it's nice to see hard work pay off.


Sunday Sweep Results

First place - Jordan Scott-Brown - 39 points, second place - Colin Jones - 38 points, third place - Shaun McMorran - 37 points (BB9) and in fourth place - Bertie Long - 37 points.

The twos pot paid out £11.50 each and all monies have been added to your pro shop accounts. The Sunday Sweep is handicap qualifying competition and is open to all categories of membership.


Donald Salver/ILGU Medal

The ladies played for the Denise Donald Salver/ILGU Medal on Tuesday with Rosanne Fulton taking the spoils with a nett 72. Rosanne pipped Beverley Russell-Browne also 72 on the better back nine with young Katie Poots snatching third price with a nett 73. The twos paid out £11 each and all monies have been added to your pro Shop accounts.


Ladies and Gent's Open Stableford every Thursday at Knock

A reminder that we will be running an open Stableford every Thursday for ladies and gents. Why not take advantage of a quieter time to enjoy the fabulous course? If you have friends or family who are thinking about golf, why not bring them up for a relaxed game of golf at great prices.

Saturday Tee Times

The Saturday tee times change this week and run up to and including Saturday, 30 September. Can I ask all members to let us know if you are NOT using your tee time as this will help facilitate people looking for a different time. If it's easier let me know via email. 

Congratulations...

A big congratulations to Robbie Davidson U14s and to Ross Latimer U18s on being selected to represent Ulster in the Boys Interprovincial Championships later this month at Blarney Golf Club. It is reward for many good performances in tournament s by both players during the season. Ross finished fifth place last week in the Ulster Boys Championship with rounds of 73, 70 and 72. Congratulations boys we are all very proud of you. Play well at the Inter Pros and enjoy.


Captain's Prize for the Juniors

Congratulations to Thomas Kane who won the Captain's Prize for the Juniors with a brilliant 40 points. Tim Larmour snatched second place with 39 points on the better back nine from Matthew Tumlinson also on 39 points. Best gross went to Ross Latimer with a 74.

Open Sweepstake

Thanks to all those who supported my Open Championship sweepstake. My tips, for what they are worth, is Adam Scott to win and Sergio and Jordan Spieth to be in the mix. I hope you all enjoy the tournament.
