Balmoral Cup Results

Following a 6.5 - 0.5 win at home, Knock lost 5 - 2 away against Moyola to win their Quarter-final tie. They go into the Semi-final where it is understood they play Cairndhu by the end of July.

Junior Competition Results

Congratulations to our new junior member Daniel McClune who won the junior competition this week with 33 points, he pipped runner-up Matthew Gibson also 33 points on the better back nine.

Sunday Sweep Results

First place - Andrew Lawson (40 points), second place - Maurice Woods (39 points), third place - Jonny Linter (39 points), fourth place - Mark Kelly (38 points) and in fifth place - Brian Graham (37 points).

The twos club paid out £6.90 each and all monies have been added to your pro shop accounts.

Craigavon Cup Results

First place - Chris Cairns (41 points), second place - Ruairi Moore (38 points) and in third place - Ryan McCrory (38 points).
Best Gross - Colin Fairweather - 71 (+1).

Barrie Man Cup Results

First place - Sam Swaffield (41 points), second place - David White (38 points) and in third place - Matthew Stuart (37 points).

Anno Domini - First place - Michael Huddleston (39 points), second place - Peter McClelland (36 points), third place - Robert Johnston (36 points) and in fourth place - Michael Crooks (35 points).#

The twos club paid out £10.24 per two and all monies have been transferred to your pro shop accounts. The CSS score for the Friday and the Saturday was 71.

Knock Holt Shield

The Knock Holt Shield team have qualified for the last 16 places in this year's competition. The next round is against Bangor with the away leg first at Bangor and the home game taking place on Sunday, 23 July at 1:00pm. Your support does make a difference so if you can, call in to Knock and let's "go win this thing".

 

What's going on left of the 13th hole?

As you play the 13th you will see a lot of development going on in clearing out a large area of land. Knock is renting this land to the roads authority so they can park their machinery used for the road widening scheme. We are getting a monthly rental for this and when they finish it will be developed into a state of the art short game area. As you can see from the photos below this area is approximately 90 meters long and I for one will look forward to it being a great short game area for practice. In the meantime it is G.U.R with a drop zone in operation.

New SMS Tee Time Message Service

I have signed Knock Golf Club up with a company called Sawted who send an SMS message to your phone reminding you of your tee time the day before you're booked. Could all members check that our database is up-to-date with your correct phone number. If anybody doesn't want to receive these texts just text back STOP to opt out. These reminders go out to all members and visitors who book a tee time.


 

Ulster Boys Amateur Golf Championship

Next week we are hosting the Ulster Boys Amateur Golf Championship from Tuesday, 11 July - Thursday, 13 July. The Hat Competition on Wednesday, 12 July will still take place, but play can only start from 4:30pm no need to book a tee time we will be using ball in the shute on the 1st tee. Could I ask if any member could lend me their electric/pull trolley for the three days? They would be used by the competitors in the tournament and I will make sure they are looked after and re-charged. Why not come up for a day and watch the stars of the future compete in this prestigious event?

 

A buggy is not just a buggy?

Next time you rent a buggy check out the latest initiative from Knock Golf Club. Five buggies have been fitted with the latest touch screen iPads. Each screen will show the golf hole being played (a virtual flyover) and another will show distances to front, middle and back of greens and you can also keep your scores digitally... next time you're up come and have a look. It's great technology and enhances the service we offer.
