Captain's Day Weekend

Frank McGrath enjoyed an excellent Captain's Day Weekend with a huge turnout over the two days. Many competitors couldn't believe the array of prizes on offer. Results were as follows:

Overall Winner - Steven McWilliams (39 points), runner-up - Laurence Rankin (38 points, BB9), third place - Jamie Brannigan (38 points) and in fourth place - Billy Lindsay (37 points).
Anno Domini Prize - John Henry (36 points, BB9).
Team Captain's Prize - Mervyn Perry (33 points).
Past Captain's Prize - Berkeley McMonagle (34 points).
Junior Prize - Ross Latimer (34 points).
Category One - First place - Simon Miskelly (37 points, BB9) and in second place - David Cook (37 points).
Category Two - First place - David Bennett (37 points, BB9) and in second place - Ian McDonald (37 points).
Category Three - First place - Scott Collins (36 points) and in second place - Peter Parke (35 points).
Category Four - First place - Mark McKelvey (36 points, BB9) and in second place - Ryan McGread (36 points).

Longest drive went to Andrew 'Boom Boom' McVeigh down the 18th and the closest to the pin went to Paul Bryans at the 12th hole. The twos club paid out £13.12 each and all monies have been transferred to your pro shop accounts. Congratulations to all the winners on the day and to Lee and his team for keeping the course in such great condition especially on Saturday morning when the 16th green was under water when I first arrived at the club.

Junior Competition Result

First place - Scott McOuat (38 points) and in second place - Lee Mitchell (33 points).

Sunday Sweep Results

First place - Gary Boyd (36 points), second place - Andrew Magill (35 points) and in third place - Chris McKay (34 points).

The twos club paid out £15 each and all monies have been added to your pro shop accounts The Sunday Sweep is an 18 hole stableford handicap qualifying competition open to all membership categories.

 

Open Week

Open Week starts at Knock Golf Club this Monday, 19 June. Please click here for a list of the day's competitions. TaylorMade Fitting Day

I'm delighted to inform you all that I will be hosting a TaylorMade Fitting Day at Knock on the Friday, 28 July from 2:00pm - 6:00pm. All the latest clubs, shafts and heads will be on show along with an expert club fitter from TaylorMade Golf. So if you would like to be fitted for woods, irons and or wedges in men's or ladies get in touch and arrange a 30 minute session.

It's good to see my lessons are working! Pictured is Georgio Lightbody trying to find, not his ball, but his wedge to the right of the 17th green... maybe we should have worked on his grip instead?

Pictured is the new range of clothing from adidas golf. This week Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia will all be wearing this apparel at the 2017 US Open. Pop in and have a look for yourselves, I have all the latest trousers, shoes and belts to finish off a great outfit. I have also taken stock of a small supply of brand new shorts. I hear the next few weeks are going to be sunny and warm who why not pop in to have a look? These shorts are pretty smart and not too 'Golfy' looking.
