I went to the club this week for a meal with Mrs W and ordered the Hake (Pictured) and it tasted as good as it looked. I would urge all members to support 'your' club. Bob's menu is fantastic and the value for money is amazing.
A TaylorMade M2 Driver For A Top Dog!
My 'Professionals' Prize' this weekend Friday, 26 May and Saturday, 27 May will be an 18 Hole Stableford Competition with many prizes on offer. The overall winner will walk away with a TaylorMade M2 driver with a complimentary custom fitting in the Swing Studio. There will be many more prizes in handicap divisions of 0-9, 10-17 and 18+, so let's hope for some sunshine this weekend.
Knock Intermediate Team Knock vs Enniskillen
The team successfully got through the first round with a very close and well deserved victory over Enniskillen by one hole . We now look forward to the second round match against Helens Bay on Sunday, 28 May at Knock. Good luck.
May Seniors' Open
It was an all Knock affair in the May Seniors' Open on Thursday, 18 May. Gareth Howes took first prize with 39 points, Simon Black got second with 38 points and Tim Linter shot 36 points to take third. The best gross went to Maurice Woods with a 78 and the twos paid out a huge £62 with Tom Hughes getting the only one.
Junior Competition
First place - Robbie Davidson (39 points) and in second place - Jared Magee (38 points).
Harry Flannigan Trophy Results
Overall winner - Norman Johnston (40 points).
Best Gross - James Patterson (68).
Anno Domini Prize - Robin Pooke (37 points).
Category One - First place - Phil Eager (40 points) and in second place - Ryan Warburton (37 points).
Category Two - First place - Jim Kilpatrick (38 points) and in second place - Neil McGread (36 points).
Category Three - First place - Mark Harrison (37 points) and in second place - Kelvin Swaffield (35 points).
Category Four - First place - Philip Irvine (40 points) and in second place - Wilson Hamilton (37 points).
The twos club paid out £16.48 and all monies have been transferred to your pro shop accounts.
Sunday Sweep Results
First place - Ben Graham (41 points), second place - Keith Forster (37 points, BB9) and in third place -Gary Boyd (37 points, BB9).
The twos club paid out £13.30 per two. A reminder that the Sunday Sweep is open to all categories of members and is a Handicap Qualifying Event.
Ladies Competition
The ladies played for the ILGU Medal this week, an 18 hole strokeplay event. The big winner on the day was Ann Morrison with a fine 69. Second place went to Elenor McMonagle with 72 and Joan Bell snatched third with a 73. The twos club paid out £10.30 per two and all monies have been added to your pro shop accounts. A big congratulations to Ann who has been working hard on her game... great score.
Captain's Day
A reminder that the draw for Captain's Day on Saturday, 10 June will take place on Sunday, 4 June at 5:00pm. Put your fourball names on the noticeboard to be included in the draw.
Scotty Cameron Fitting Day
I'm pleased to say my Scotty Cameron Fitting Day is now full. If anybody would like to put their names down on the reserve list, please let me know. Members are also welcome to come to the putting green on Tuesday, 30 May from 10:30 am onwards to have a look and feel of the new Scotty Cameron range on offer.

The Benross range of clubs continue to prove themselves against the top brands on offer. I have carried out four fittings this week in the studio and proved to a few members that the Benross driver (at just £149) performs as well as big ticket brands. As mentioned last week I was given the opportunity to purchase some FootJoy Contour shoes at a reduced price... many have been sold, but I still have a number of the white and tan shoes in stock. These shoes are £99 everywhere online, but you can get them in your pro shop for just £74.99.
