Ulster Golfers Alliance
On Tuesday I travelled to Castlerock Golf Club to compete in the Ulster Golfers Alliance. Pictured is my team of Knock members Simon Swail, Harry McKee and Colin McKeown. I shot an average score of two-over-par leaving me just inside the top 10... much improvement needed! We got great weather and the north coast is always a great place to play. I would like to thank my team for an enjoyable day.
Winter League Week 12 Results
Low Section - First place - Tim Linter (38 points), second place - Stephen Hughes (37 points), third place - Neil Warburton (37 points) and in fourth place - Glenn McCreery (36 points).
Mid Section - First place - David White (37 points), second place - John Cairnduff (36 points), third place - John Robinson (36 points) and in fourth place - Gary Skelton (36 points).
High Section - First place - John Hutchison (36 points), second place - Hugh Kirkwood (36 points), third place - Bob Bradford (35 points) and in fourth place - Ian Noad (34 points).
The twos club paid out £8 each and all monies have been transferred to your pro shop accounts.
Weekend Sweep Results
George Lightbody took the honors this week with a fine 38 points over the 16 holes. Second prize went to Marty Hannigan 36 points who also recorded the first hole-in-one of the year. Andy Lawson took third prize with a better back nine over Simon Swail (both shot 35 points). Marty Hannigan took £45 for his hole-in-one meaning the twos club paid out a small £3 each. All monies have been transferred to your pro shop accounts.
Junior Competition
Robbie Davidson won this week's 12 Hole Stableford with 25 points. Lee Mitchell snatched second with 23 points.
Ladies 12 Hole Competition Results
First place - Elaine Morrow (23 points), second place - Joan Sinclair (23 points) and in third place - Heather Kane (23 points).
Only two twos were recorded by Ann McIvor and Elaine Morrow each paying out £20 each. Congratulations to all the winners and all monies have been transferred to your pro shop accounts.
Junior/Cadet Section Sponsorship
Last year I appealed to the members for junior sponsorship. The money very kindly donated was used to enhance prize funds, for coaching sessions and team wear. Once again this year I am appealing for any sponsorship. The juniors are the future and we have some serious talent in the U18 section both male and female. If any member/company/business(s) would like to donate any sponsorship money, please give me a call at the pro shop and I can discuss with the individual!

Do Your Bit...
With the course becoming a little softer, can I please remind you all to repair your pitch mark AND one other? If we all did this the marks would soon disappear and our putting surfaces would look and play much better. It only takes a few seconds.
2017 FootJoy Range
The ladies section will be able to preview the new 2017 FootJoy golf shoe styles on offer. I have placed a brand new poster of all the new styles in the locker room. If you would like any further information, give me a call at the pro shop.
New Product for 2017
As we prepare for all the new 2017 stock arriving, it has become very interesting to watch the European Tour and US PGA Tour to see what's in everyone's bag. Rory is using Callaway's new Epic driver and Apex blades, as well as the new Odyssey O-Works putter, Justin Thomas is using Titleist's 917D3 driver and irons and Dustin Johnson is using the new 2017 M1 TaylorMade driver.
Over the next few weeks we will see all worlds' best players try their new equipment and very soon these will all be available at Knock pro shop, and now that we have a state of the art swing studio, I can also fit you all giving you the best set up for your swing.

Re-gripping Offer
Now is the time to check your golf grips. Pictured is my 'grip bar' in the pro shop. I have a large choice of the very best grips on the market and all prices include fitting. Why not bring your clubs in to let me have a look and check them for you? I can also 'fit' you for the correct size of grip. I have grips starting from just £5 per club.
