Remembrance Sunday
Sunday, 13 November is Remembrance Sunday and the golf course is closed until 12pm. A ball in the Shute will be in operation. Players must only place a ball in the Shute on the first tee when the whole fourball is present. In previous years players have also started on the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 12th holes. A horn will be sounded at 12pm.
Jazz Sundays
The next Jazz Sunday at Knock takes place on Sunday, 20 November and introduces the Ken Haddock Trio with John McCullough on keyboards. Delightful background music and delicious food. Invite family and friends and come and join us for a relaxed break.

Weekend's Sweep
This weekend's sweep was played in superb weather for this time of the year and the scoring reflects the conditions. Seamus McAvoy took first prize with 37 points over the 16 holes he beat Sammy Lemon (also 37 points) second on the better back nine holes. Third place went to Mark Harrison 36 points, fourth went to Trevor Gilliland 36 points and fifth place went to Simon Swail also on 36 points the players separated on the countback. The best gross was won with a 59 (-3) by Colin Fairweather and the twos club paid out £8.50 per two. Congratulations to Seamus who came out on top unlike Arsenal this weekend. I believe the pundits said 'Spurs where the better team.' The weekend sweep continues to be popular and is played over 16 holes (14th + 15th not included) on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It is open to all members to compete in.

Titleist Fitting Day
With the excitement of the launch of the new Titleist 917 metals, I'm pleased to announce I am hosting a Titleist Fitting Day here at Knock on Monday, 28 November. I have eight slots to fill with a Master Fitting Expert who will have all the new shafts and heads on-site along with the latest shot and swing tracking devices.

New Investment
The club has invested in a new leaf blower (pictured), this will help greatly in the horrendous task of keeping the ever falling leaves at bay. The replaced one was very old and not efficient. The new blower will save many man hours and can be used for blowing grass cuttings as well during the summer period. Lee and his time have been working tirelessly to get rid of the leaves and give us a playing area to enjoy.
Swing Studio
Pictured is an update of how the Summerfield Room is being transformed into an indoor golf studio and state of the art golf simulator. My dad and myself have been hard at work painting the room and getting it ready for the installation later this month... watch this space!
New balls please...
For next few weeks playing the course with the leaves falling can be frustrating to say the least. However, pictured is the wide range of YELLOW golf balls I now have in stock. They are easier to follow in a full grey day and also easier to pick out in the leaves!
Winter Grip Check-up
With the winter season ahead of us, now is the perfect time to get your grips checked and changed if necessary. Did you know that old shiny worn out grips, according to leading grip manufacture Golf Pride, could be costing you 3 - 4 shots a round, and if you play on average once a week you should change your grips every 12 - 18 months. When was the last time you changed yours? If the answer is never, we keep in stock a large range of the latest Golf Pride and Lamkin grips including the Tour Velvet and Multi-compound grips as used by the likes of Rory McIlroy and Jason Day. I have top grade UST grips from £5 and the new Ogigo waterproof grips from £7. Many clubs can be re-gripped as you wait and we also offer a next day service and FREE fitting so what are you waiting for?
