Second place went to Shaun McMorran with 37 points and Stephen Finlay snatched third with 36 points. The twos club paid out £10 each and all monies have been transferred to your pro shop accounts.

Junior Competition
The junior competition on Sunday was won by Thomas Kane with 42 points, Scott Mcquat finished runner up with 41 points pipping Paul Kelly, also with 41 points, on the better back nine. The juniors head back to school this week, but remember that there is a competition every Sunday just check the time sheet for exact tee time starting.
Ladies British Amateur Championship
Pictured is Eric Martin rocking his new gillet and Hugh Kirkwood and Brian McCluskey enjoying the talent on show. I would like to personally thank all the members who responded to my request for trolleys your generosity was brilliant and we had more than enough for the girls to use during the week.
I was very interested to see literally every competitor on the practice putting green this week using some sort of putting aid, whether to help with alignment or starting position or a simple tempo tray. These elite girls have been coached very well. If you are practicing on our putting green without a putting aid, I believe all you are doing is guessing.... If you would like to talk about putting aids and stroke arcs, give me a buzz at the pro shop.
Night Golf
A reminder that Night Golf is coming to Knock on Friday, 16 September. The event will consist of nine holes of golf using the latest state of the art LED golf balls and marking equipment. I have experienced this company last year and they run it brilliantly.
Click here to see our promotional poster for more details and tickets can be purchased in the office.
Beat your Handicap Competition
With President's Day just around the corner, I will once again be running the Titleist Beat your Handicap Ball Challenge. It was a huge success on Captain's Day with a number of winners doubling up their ball stocks.
Simply purchase three, six, nine or a dozen Titleist golf balls and if you beat your handicap, 37 points or better and you will win the same amount as you bought, FREE of charge! It's a bit of fun and if you play well you get rewarded.
I will also have a number of items on sale over the President's Prize weekend. Keep an eye on next week's newsletter for more information.
Time to check your clubs?
I have been busy this week fixing clubs in the workshop. Many repairs could have been avoided if they had been left in with myself for a quick check. We are now into September, so why not bring your clubs into the shop and let me check your grips, shafts, grooves and ferrules? A quick checkpoint (mini MOT) could not only save you a few pounds, it WILL also save you some shots on your round.
I have a huge selection of grips from standard to jumbo. All prices include fitting and expert advice. Click here to get in touch for more details.
