Ritchie Warburton Trophy
The Ritchie Warburton Trophy was contested last weekend with Senior Cup player Michael Sinclair taking the spoils. Micheal shot a season best gross 64 to win the trophy with 42 points. The best gross went to Colin Fairweather 68 and Walter Ferguson won the Anno Domini prize with 36 points. The division prize winners are as follows:
Division One - First place - Philip Green (39 points, bb9) and in second place - Jonathan Finlay (39 points). Division Two - First place - Chris Hill (35 points) and in second place - Michael Cahoon (34 points). Division Three - First place - Alan Henderson (37 points) and in second place - Ian Clarke (35 points). Division Four - David Hay (39 points bb9) and in second place - Henry Beers (39 points).
The twos club paid out £13.70 and all monies have been put on your pro shop accounts. The great scoring is testament to how good the course is and the putting surfaces. After the worst winter in history, Lee and his team have produced a fabulous playing surface. As I write this, three overseas visitors have popped in after their golf to tell me Knock 'had the best fairways they have ever seen'. They had played Malone, Royal Belfast and Knock and commented that we where considerably better than the others. It's always nice to hear!

Congratulations...
Congratulations to Ross Latimer who was selected to play for an Ulster Boys team to play the Ulster Senior Team Select on Sunday, 29 May at Castlerock. The selection is testament to Ross' consistently good play this year. Enjoy the experience Ross.
On his Ulster boys debut Ross got a very creditable halved match against his Senior Ulster opponent. Well done Ross great playing!
Thank you...
If any members were playing this weekend, you couldn't not notice the wonderful array of colourful plants in the boxes and in the hanging baskets. A big thank you goes to Tom Reid. Tom works tirelessly year in year out to make the club look so great.
Compliments aplenty...
The golf course is looking stunning this week with compliments from various visitors, it's nice to hear Malone and Belvior members telling me that 'our course is way ahead of theirs' another comment was ' the best fairways they have seen outside South Africa'. So well done Lee and his team, the playing surfaces are brilliant!
Rule Changes
Rule changes are starting on Wednesday, 1 June . Please see below the local rule changes for Knock Golf Club. They are also detailed on the new print of our new scorecards which are now in use.
Out of bounds
When playing the 1st on or beyond the white line and posts left of the 1st tee, from the fitzhugh hut to the corner of the conifers left of the 2nd fairway. Ground under repair when playing the 2nd the greenkeepers sheds and area left of 2nd fairway marked with a white line.
Order of play
Players driving from 18th tee now have priority and those on 13th green should give way before putting. This should help to speed up play.
Need a new pair of shoes?
Pictured is my selection of the new FootJoy studless golf shoes. When the course is hard and fast these shoes are perfect to play in. Many people love the lightness not to mention the comfort factor. If I don't have the type or make that you desire just ask me and I can get anything in 2-3 working days. These shoes come with the same waterproof warranty so don't worry if it rains.
