Lady Captain for 2016!

Last week I shared a photo of the new men's captain. Sinead Murray, pictured, is our new Lady Captain (she didn't have her makeup on last week) and yes she is always this smiley...

Entertainment at Knock

This Sunday, 28 February we have organised a great event with a delicious hot carvery and cool background music from The Ken Haddock Trio featuring John McCullough on organ and piano. Book tables on 90480915.

Course Maintenance

I walked the course on Tuesday afternoon to have a look at the course improvements and how they are taking shape. Pictured below is the new bunkers at the 7th hole.

 

Pro Sweep

This weekend was one of the first times this winter we were open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Pro Sweep was played over 13 holes on normal greens. Robbie Davidson shot an impressive 33 points to win the sweep, second place with 32 points went to Simon Swail and Sam Gilmer snatched third with 31 points. Ben Graham won the gross prize with 50 (-1) and the twos club paid out £10 each and all monies have been added to your pro shop accounts. Congratulations to all of the winners! A quick note to remind all members that my Pro Sweep is open to all juniors, ladies and gents to enter.

Winter League

Week seven of the Winter League was hit again by the weather but this week's (starting Friday, 19 February - Thursday, 25 February) will go ahead as we already have a quorum from the weekend. I can't give results as I don't get them until Friday and this newsletter has to be complete on a Thursday. So week eight of the Winter League will start on Friday, 26 February.

Woolly Hat

The Woolly Hat on Wednesday was played over 13 holes. Richard Hamilton was the runaway winner with 31points, second place went to Peter Truesdale on 28 points pipping Stephen McCracken on the better back six holes who snatched third prize. The LEGEND that is Tim Linter picked up the best gross prize with 54 (+3). Not bad for a man who is the third best golfer in his house! The twos payed out a massive £28 each and all monies have been added to your pro shop accounts. Congratulations to all the prize winners!

Ladies Stableford

The ladies played a 9 holes stableford competition on a bright and sunny Tuesday. It was a tight affair at the top with the top three all recording 17 points, the placings had to be calculated on the countback. First place went to Helen Anderson, second place went to Beverley Russell-Browne and third went to Elaine Morrow. There were four twos each paying out £9.75 and all monies have been added to your pro shop accounts. Congratulations to all of the winners.

A big thank you to all of the ladies for the kind words on my return, it was good fun chatting to you all about my trip. I am working with Irene Reid with regards setting up some group tuition so stay tuned for more information.



New arrivals...

Part of my glove order arrived in store this weekend, pictured is the FootJoy WeatherSof and for a limited time only get a FREE Knock Golf Club ball marker with each glove purchased. FootJoy have also released a new ladies glove called Attitudes for 2016 and those ladies like Eve and Helen will love the fact that pink is one of the standard colours. Pop in store and try one on for yourself!

   

PING G Range

The new PING product for 2016 has arrived in store. Pop in and have a look for yourself, the new range is very impressive and testing has proved the G Range to be market leaders in both distance and control.

   

Titleist Range

Pictured below is the new Titleist TMB irons which I have a demo range in stock for members to hit. Titleist have basically developed their most forgiving iron to date with the idea being to replace your two, three or four iron. I have one in my bag and it is literally a 'Cheating stick' with a high launch and low spin it's perfect off the tee or for those longer second shots. Also pictured is some of the new 2016 Scotty Cameron range of Golo and X series putters. I will have a full range of Scotty putters in store for you to see and try.
